The Cyprus Drug Law Enforcement Unit, known as YKAN, arrested the 30-year-old recipient of the parcels, who owns the shop, and a 23-year-old woman who was found working there during a search. Limassol District Court on Sunday remanded both suspects in custody for five days as police investigate alleged importation and possession of drugs, possession with intent to supply and money laundering. Police said the seized products are believed to contain dangerous synthetic drugs that could cause serious harm to human health. YKAN and the Customs Department inspected the two parcels on 9 July after they arrived at Larnaca airport from another European country. Officers found: 20 containers labelled T9HC Flower holding 60 grams of dried cannabis; 300 packets containing 300 cannabis cigarettes weighing 300 grams; 200 one-gram packets of dried cannabis weighing 200 grams; a further 125 one-gram packets of dried cannabis weighing 125 grams; 20 packets of CBD and cannabis tea weighing 600 grams; five packets of cannabis coffee with cannabis extract weighing 300 grams; 48 Premium T9HC vape devices containing one millilitre each of a liquid classified as a controlled drug; 12 packets of cannabis gummies weighing a total of 2.4 kilograms; 12 packets of cannabis chewing gum weighing 204 grams; and 10 packets of cannabis cookies weighing 500 grams. A court issued an arrest warrant for the 30-year-old alleged recipient, who was located and arrested by YKAN officers on Saturday. Officers later searched his shop in Limassol district in his presence and that of the 23-year-old employee. Police said they found: 18 packets of cannabis gummies weighing 900 grams; 19 packets labelled THC, each containing five four-gram chocolates, weighing 380 grams in total; four containers labelled CBN + THC, each containing 10 gummies, weighing 184 grams; THC-labelled chocolates weighing 300 grams in total; 12 vape devices containing one millilitre of THC substance each; two packets of THC-labelled brownie chocolates weighing 120 grams; three packets of cannabis cookies weighing 300 grams; four containers of cannabis resin weighing four grams; and a precision scale bearing traces of green dried plant material. YKAN’s Limassol district unit is continuing the investigation.
