Due to increased interest and positive response from the public, registration for the 28th ‘Marios Agathangelou’ International Road Race has been extended until Tuesday, October 6, 2026. The competition, which marked the beginning of the Limassol Games – our country’s largest multi-sport event – returns on Sunday, October 11, 2026, continuing a tradition spanning almost three decades, promoting sporting values, fair play and a love of sport. Limassol Municipality invites runners of all ages and abilities to make the most of the extended registration period and sign up for this historic race, taking part in one of the largest sporting events, which combines competition with community service. Dedicated to the memory of the athlete and teacher Marios Agathangelou, the race has become a landmark event in the sporting calendar, attracting hundreds of runners from Cyprus and abroad every year. Last year’s event brought hundreds of runners – drawn from families, children, amateur and professionals – to the Limassol seafront, in testimony to the race’s enduring appeal. Running for a good cause This year, the 28th ‘Marios Agathangelou’ International Road Race takes on a particularly significant social dimension. With every entry, we are supporting the ‘Panos Evripidou’ Foundation and its mission to improve the quality of life for premature babies and their families. This means each runner’s steps and every kilometre covered will become an act of generosity and solidarity, lending even greater value to participation.
