The officer serves at a police station in Limassol. According to evidence secured by investigators, he allegedly approached a witness in the case against a 45-year-old special constable and indicated or encouraged him on the content of his testimony, so that it would be favourable to the accused. The 45-year-old special constable was arrested in May as part of a coordinated operation by police and the newly established Organised Crime Suppression Sub-Directorate — referred to as the “Cyprus FBI” — targeting a criminal network with international connections and financial activity in Cyprus. The offences allegedly committed by the 42-year-old are said to have taken place between May and June 2026 in the Limassol district. The 42-year-old is expected to be suspended from duty. Once the investigation is complete, he will be formally charged in writing and summoned to appear before the courts.
