The crash happened late on Saturday on a mountain road in northern Fogo, when the bus left the road and fell about 30 metres into a steep ravine, according to the agency. Many of the passengers were primary and secondary school students. Several injured passengers were taken to Sao Francisco de Assis Regional Hospital on the island. Education officials said the trip had not been organised by local schools. It was an annual outing arranged privately by the driver, who was also among those killed, Inforpress reported.
