Residents noticed the fire in time and got out safely. The Fire Service said it received the call at 06:17, and firefighters from the Famagusta Fire Station, named after Fire Sergeant Adamos Adamou, brought the blaze under control by 07:10 using two fire engines. Preliminary findings indicate the fire started in a ground-floor prefabricated storage shed attached to the house, and its contents suffered extensive damage. The fire and intense heat also damaged the house’s exterior paint and an air-conditioning compressor, while the owner’s car, parked on the road in front of the house, suffered damage to part of its bodywork. The cause of the fire is expected to be investigated.
