"According to the law, the selection of cryptocurrencies factor in their market capitalization, average daily trading volume, and foreign exchange pricing history, which must span at least five years for each asset. Based on these criteria, the list of cryptocurrencies available for public trading on exchanges includes Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Tether (USDT)," the statement reads. The Bank of Russia has also capped cryptocurrency purchases for retail (non-qualified) investors at 300,000 rubles ($3,632) per year.
