Bosnia-Herzegovina’s Central Election Commission has announced preliminary results of Sunday’s general elections after counting 90% of votes. Thus, Denis Becirovic of Bosnia-Hezegovina’s Social Democratic Party is leading in the election of the Bosniak (Slavs professing Islam) member of the BiH Presidency (Presidium) with 38.12%. His rival, Bakir Izetbegovic, the leader of the Party of Democratic Action, is garnering 33.98% of votes. Darjana Filipovic of the Croatian Democratic Union of Bosnia and Herzegovina is number one in the race for the Croatian member of the Presidency with 46.56%. Her rival, Slaven Kovacevic, is scoring 30.54%. Zeljka Cvijanovic of the ruling Alliance of Independent Social Democrats in Republika Srpska is the leader in the election of the Republika Srpska’s member of the Presidency with 55.34%. Her rival, Marinko Bozovic of the opposition, is winning 26.55%. Republika Srpska’s Prime Minister Savo Minic is winning the elections of the entity’s president with 52.13% of votes. The opposition candidate, Branko Blanusa, currently has 41.95%.
