The company sent a response to en.philenews following the conclusion of an investigation into the “Videogate” scandal, which centered on 26 hours of leaked, covertly recorded footage that raised allegations of political corruption, influence peddling, and illicit lobbying. The covert recordings featured interactions linked to Black Cube and major corporate entities, focusing on claims that corporate donations connected to the Independent Social Support Fund were leveraged to secure political or business favours. However, an independent criminal investigator appointed to analyse the complete, unedited material concluded that claims of political corruption and criminal wrongdoing were unsupported. In a statement released following the publication of the investigator’s report, Black Cube rejected the outcome and asserted that it “stands firmly behind its evidence uncovering corruption carried out by Cyfield in Cyprus.” Describing itself as a private intelligence firm supporting litigations, arbitrations, and white-collar crime cases, the company emphasized that it “obtains legal advice in every jurisdiction in which it operates to ensure the legality of its activities.” Commenting on the investigator’s findings, Black Cube stated it “awaits the final assessment of the Law Office” and remains confident that the process “will bring those responsible to justice and facilitate a cleaner business environment.” The firm added that it will continue “uncovering fraud, corruption, and asset dissipation” across its international cases, as the Law Office conducts its ultimate evaluation of the file.
