According to the Fire Service, the blaze spread to a number of trees within the motorway embankment boundary. Fire Service vehicles from the Larnaca Fire Service and the Department of Forests responded to the scene. Traffic Police are managing controlled passage of vehicles on the motorway. Drivers heading towards Larnaca are advised to use the Lympia exit and take the old Nicosia-Larnaca road.
