The announcement from the President of the Republic is expected any hour now, with Christodoulides, philenews understands, having settled on the decisions for the changes he will make. The situation appears to have shifted in recent hours, with the changes now expected to be more extensive than earlier leaks suggested. However, this does not necessarily mean significantly more people will leave the cabinet. The most likely scenario is that replacements in the Council of Ministers will be accompanied by changes in roles. This means there may also be moves of ministers to other ministries. According to philenews’s information, the reshuffle will carry a strong centre-right stamp, with an increased presence of figures from DIKO, two, or even three, as well as figures coming from the Democratic Rally (DISY). The choices of figures coming from DISY are awaited with particular interest, and are estimated to carry significant weight in Christodoulides’s efforts for the final stretch of his five-year term, with the 2028 presidential election clearly in view.
