The Central Bank of Cyprus (CBC) on Friday announced three opportunities for recent graduates and postgraduate students through its internship and graduate programme, offering placements in its information technology and human resources directorates. The programme is designed to provide practical professional experience, help participants develop their skills and give them first-hand exposure to the central bank’s operations. IT infrastructure positions Two fixed-term positions are available in the IT Infrastructure Administration Section, with candidates expected to assist with projects and day-to-day operational activities. Responsibilities include preparing, configuring and deploying computers for bank staff, as well as preparing decommissioned equipment for donation to charitable organisations. Successful applicants will also provide help desk support, respond to user requests and assist with infrastructure administration and maintenance. Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, information technology or a related field. They should have a strong understanding of computer hardware, software and peripheral devices, particularly the installation, configuration and troubleshooting of Microsoft Windows operating systems, alongside very good knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Applicants must also have a good understanding of IT support and infrastructure administration, as well as a very good command of Greek and English. The positions start immediately and run for six months, with the possibility of a further six-month extension. Applications must be submitted by November 20, 2026. Human resources graduate trainee A third position is available as a graduate trainee in the Human Resources Directorate, with responsibilities including supporting daily operations, processing and validating employee information and providing administrative assistance. The successful candidate will also participate in projects and initiatives relating to the management and development of the bank’s workforce. Applicants must hold a recognised university degree, while postgraduate qualifications in human resource management, organisational psychology and behaviour, or employee relations will be considered an advantage. Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, are required, alongside very good Greek and English. The placement begins in December 2026 and will initially last six months, with the possibility of a further six-month extension. Applications must be submitted by November 13, 2026. Eligibility and remuneration Both opportunities are open to graduates who completed their studies within the 12 months preceding the announcement, as well as postgraduate students. Candidates must have achieved at least 65 per cent or a 2:1 academic result. Both placements offer gross monthly remuneration of €979 initially, increasing to €1,088 after six months of continuous service. Participants will also receive a pro rata 13th salary, in accordance with their employment contracts. Working hours are 7.30am to 3pm from Monday to Thursday and 7.30am to 2.30pm on Fridays.
