**Central Bank of Cyprus Extends Application Deadline for Senior Positions**
The Central Bank of Cyprus (CBC) has announced an extension for the application deadline for two key senior positions within the institution. The new deadline for applications is now set for September 20, 2026, at 11:59 PM. This extension applies to the roles of Senior Communications Officer and Senior Officer at the newly planned Centre for Cyprus Economic and Monetary History.
Originally advertised in the Official Gazette on August 7, 2026, the positions are crucial for the CBC as it seeks to enhance its operational capabilities and public engagement. The Senior Communications Officer will play a pivotal role in managing both internal and external communications for the bank. Responsibilities include developing a comprehensive communications strategy, managing relationships with local and international media, and addressing communications risks and crisis situations. The successful candidate will also be tasked with improving public understanding of the CBC’s mission, role, and policies.
To qualify for the Senior Communications Officer position, applicants must possess a university degree in communications, journalism, public relations, political science, economics, finance, or business administration. Additionally, a postgraduate or doctoral qualification in one of these fields is required. Candidates must have a minimum of eight years of relevant full-time experience, including at least three years in corporate or institutional communications, along with proficiency in both Greek and English.
The second position, Senior Officer at the Centre for Cyprus Economic and Monetary History, is aimed at establishing and developing the new centre, which will include a planned Monetary Museum. The centre is intended to be a permanent part of the CBC’s operations and will focus on showcasing Cyprus’ economic and monetary history and its significance to European identity. The successful candidate will lead the centre’s development, overseeing exhibitions, research, publications, lectures, and cultural and educational activities, as well as fostering cooperation with universities, cultural organizations, and international museums.
Applicants for this role must hold a degree in archaeology, history, or museology, along with a relevant postgraduate qualification or equivalent professional experience. Similar to the communications role, candidates must have at least eight years of full-time experience, with a minimum of three years in managing, developing, or operating museums or cultural organizations.
Both positions offer a salary scale ranging from €53,701 to €92,610, with a minimum gross monthly salary starting at €5,043.42. This salary scale includes a 27.99% cost-of-living allowance, along with the applicable public service cost-of-living allowance and a 13th salary.
Applications must be submitted electronically via the CBC’s EXELSYS recruitment system, and candidates are required to send supporting academic and experience certificates via email. A non-refundable application fee of €30 is required for each position, which must be paid through JCC Smart prior to submitting applications.
