As philenews understands, the President has already spoken with von der Leyen ahead of her meeting with European Council President António Costa and the Turkish President. The meeting of the three will take place today in Ankara. Sources familiar with the content of the talks between the President and von der Leyen say the two leaders are aligned on the Cyprus problem and on EU-Turkey relations. Both President Christodoulides and Commission President von der Leyen will be in Paris next week, and have agreed to meet there to discuss in depth the outcome of the Ankara talks. At the Bastille Day parade The President will be in the French capital to take part in celebrations marking France’s National Day, the anniversary of the storming of the Bastille. A National Guard contingent will also take part in this year’s military parade in Paris. French President Emmanuel Macron invited President Christodoulides, who accepted the invitation. He will be in Paris on July 14 to attend the celebrations and the military parade.
