**Cypriot Economist Recognised in Global Ranking**
Cyprus has made its mark on the global economic stage with the recognition of Panayiotis Agisilaou, a prominent competition economist. For the seventh consecutive year, Agisilaou has been named a Thought Leader by the Lexology Index, affirming his status as the sole economist from Cyprus in this prestigious category.
Agisilaou, who is the founder and managing director of Trojan Economics, received this accolade in the Competition – Economists category of the international guide, which is published in collaboration with Global Competition Review. This guide, previously known as Who’s Who Legal, is renowned for its comprehensive evaluations of professionals in the legal and economic fields.
The Thought Leader designation is awarded to individuals who demonstrate exceptional expertise and receive the highest evaluations through an independent research process conducted by Lexology Index. This process includes feedback from peers and clients, interviews with practitioners and corporate counsel, as well as independent data analysis. In addition to being named a Thought Leader, Agisilaou has also been recognised as Recommended in the Consulting Experts – Economics – Competition Economists category, marking a significant achievement for him as he holds two distinctions within the same publication.

In addition to his role at Trojan Economics, Agisilaou is also dedicated to education. He teaches at the Open University of Cyprus and is set to begin teaching at the University of Nicosia in September 2026, further contributing to the development of future economists in the region.
