Her visit centred on taking part in the 18th Annual Capital Link Shipping & Marine Services Forum, where she joined a round-table discussion with her British counterpart, Keir Mather, and Nikolas P. Tsakos, founder and chief executive of TEN Ltd. The discussion focused on the prospects for cooperation between governments and the shipping industry to strengthen the competitiveness of global shipping. Hadjimanoli stressed the need for a competitive, resilient and sustainable shipping sector, highlighting the importance of close cooperation among stakeholders. Promoting the Cyprus registry She presented Cyprus as an internationally recognised maritime centre, highlighting its strong shipping registry, integrated maritime ecosystem and stable, competitive business environment. During her stay in London, she also met senior executives from shipping companies, aiming to promote the Cyprus registry and broaden cooperation with the international shipping industry. Meeting with Keir Mather Hadjimanoli held a bilateral meeting with Keir Mather, the UK’s parliamentary under-secretary responsible for aviation, maritime affairs and decarbonisation. The two sides exchanged views on issues of shared shipping interest, with emphasis on the sector’s competitiveness, the green transition and the challenges facing the industry internationally. They also confirmed their mutual commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation, particularly regarding the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding between the two countries. Talks with Foresight Group During the visit, Hadjimanoli also met Ravi K. Mehrotra, founder and chairman of the Foresight Group. The international business group is active in shipping, offshore drilling, and port and energy infrastructure, among other related sectors.
