The service, which acts as Cyprus’s single point of contact for the Safety Gate system, said the products were identified on the markets of various EU member states before being notified to the system to inform consumers. The 60 products were distributed among the following government authorities for checks on the Cyprus market: Consumer Protection Service: 16 products Department of Electromechanical Services: 17 products Department of Labour Inspection: 13 products Department of Road Transport: 8 products Health Services: 2 products Department of Environment: 2 products Mines Service: 1 product Ministry of Interior (Construction Products Sector): 1 product According to the announcement, consumers can visit the Safety Gate website directly to search for all products notified to the system and find relevant information to avoid using them. The Safety Gate website is also available in Greek. The Consumer Protection Service is calling on economic operators who supply or have supplied these products to the market to notify the relevant authority immediately. It is also calling on consumers who hold any of the products to stop using them where appropriate, return them to the shop where they were purchased, and inform the relevant authority.
