**Cyprus Marine Club Draws Record Crowd for MSC Success Story**
The Cyprus Marine Club recently achieved a significant milestone by hosting its largest gathering to date, attracting approximately 200 members and guests from the island’s maritime community. This landmark event, which focused on industry insights, networking, and reflection, underscores the club's ongoing growth and the active participation of its members.
Captain Eberhard Koch, the club’s president, opened the evening by highlighting the impressive turnout, which he attributed to the club's expanding influence and the commitment of its members. During his address, he announced the addition of two new corporate members, Guma Tech and EMA, along with individual member Aristotelis Moutafis, further enhancing the club's maritime network.
The timing of the event was particularly poignant, occurring just before the Day of the Seafarer. Captain Koch took this opportunity to honor seafarers worldwide, acknowledging their dedication, resilience, and essential role in global trade and the maritime industry.
The highlight of the evening was the keynote address delivered by Prabhat Jha, Group Managing Director and CEO of MSC Shipmanagement Limited. Jha, a prominent figure in the global shipping sector, was introduced by Sunil Kapoor, a board member of the Cyprus Marine Club and COO of OL Shipping Group. Kapoor shared his personal connection with Jha, reflecting on their long-standing friendship and Jha’s impressive journey from marine engineer to a key leader in the shipping industry. He commended Jha for his integrity and significant contributions to the maritime landscape in Cyprus, noting that his efforts have added both value and recognition to the island’s shipping cluster.
