**Cyprus Peacekeepers Honored with UN Medals for Service**
On Monday, a ceremony was held to honor the dedication and service of 107 peacekeepers who have served in Cyprus as part of the United Nations peacekeeping force, known as UNFICYP. UNFICYP was established in 1964 in response to intercommunal violence between Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots, marking it as one of the longest-running peacekeeping missions under the auspices of the United Nations.
