According to a post by the Foreign Ministry on X, the aid will be channelled through the UN Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF) and UNICEF to cover the immediate needs of affected families and strengthen humanitarian action on the ground. “International solidarity and humanitarian action remain fundamental principles of Cyprus’s foreign policy,” the Foreign Ministry said. Nepal has been grappling with the aftermath of catastrophic flash flooding that struck the country in late August, killing hundreds of people and leaving thousands more missing, with rescue efforts continuing to be hampered by difficult terrain and weather conditions.
