A total of 449 burglary cases were registered in the first half of 2026, of which 302 were solved. By city, Nicosia registered 85 burglary cases, of which 63 were solved, while Limassol registered 162, of which 114 were solved. Larnaca registered 87 cases, of which 55 were solved, and Paphos registered 52 and 34 respectively. Famagusta registered 46 cases, of which 34 were solved, while Morphou registered 17, of which two were solved. On thefts, a total of 274 cases were registered in the first half of 2026, of which 134 were solved. By city, Nicosia registered 68 theft cases, of which 37 were solved, while Limassol registered 89, of which 50 were solved. Larnaca registered 52 cases, of which 14 were solved, and Paphos registered 37 and 21 respectively. Famagusta registered 18 theft cases, of which eight were solved, while Morphou registered ten, of which four were solved. Previous years’ figures According to police statistics, 1,091 burglary cases were registered in 2023, of which 644 were solved. In 2024, 966 burglary cases were registered and 605 were solved, while in 2025, 930 were registered and 609 were solved. On thefts, 583 cases were registered in 2023, of which 269 were solved. In 2024, 632 theft cases were registered and 306 were solved, while in 2025, 579 were registered and 273 were solved. Police’s annual figures show a declining trend in burglary cases over the three-year period from 2023 to 2025. The number fell from 1,091 in 2023 to 966 in 2024 and 930 in 2025, while 449 cases were registered in the first half of 2026. For thefts, the picture shows fluctuation. Registered cases rose from 583 in 2023 to 632 in 2024, before falling to 579 in 2025, while 274 cases were registered in the first half of 2026.
