The centre had previously been investigated for illegally applying medical methods outside recognised indications and practices. The complaint concerns the same centre that was investigated by the relevant authorities and police in 2022 and 2023, though it is now operating under a different name. The ministry reviewed complaints and investigations into various centres and facilities across Cyprus that came to light at the end of last week, and found that the one complaint currently pending before it concerns this specific clinic. The clinic previously had its operations suspended by order of the authorities. The new complaint comes amid days of public debate in Greece and Cyprus over plasmapheresis and other medical procedures applied illegally for non-medical reasons, promising health and wellbeing, a debate triggered by the death of popular singer Giorgos Mazonakis. The Ministry of Health is expected to issue an official update on the case later today.
