**Cyprus Set for 40°C as Heat Grips Island**
Cyprus is bracing for a heatwave this weekend, with temperatures expected to soar to 40°C in inland areas. The warm weather pattern is set to continue, with mainly clear skies dominating the forecast for Saturday.
In specific regions, temperatures are projected to reach around 33°C in coastal areas such as Paphos and Kyrenia. Meanwhile, Limassol and Larnaca are expected to experience highs of approximately 36°C. The mountainous region of Troodos will see slightly cooler temperatures, reaching around 30°C.
As the day progresses, clouds are anticipated to develop in the afternoon, which may bring a chance of isolated rain. However, the overall weather will remain predominantly clear, contributing to the ongoing heat.
As night falls, temperatures are expected to drop to around 24°C in the capital, Nicosia, and about 20°C in Troodos, providing some relief from the daytime heat.
The forecast indicates that mainly clear weather will persist until Tuesday, with occasional clouds forming in the afternoons. Despite the heat, temperatures are expected to remain slightly above the average for this time of year.
Residents and visitors are advised to take precautions against the heat, particularly during peak hours, to ensure safety and well-being.
