**CySEC Sets Deadline for Q3 Fund Management Statistics Submission**

The Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC) has announced a deadline for fund managers and self-managed investment funds to submit their third-quarter statistical returns. All submissions must be completed by October 30, 2026, as outlined in a circular issued this week. The commission has emphasized that late or incomplete filings may result in administrative penalties.

The requirement for submission applies to a variety of regulated entities, including Alternative Investment Fund Managers (AIFMs), UCITS management companies, internally managed AIFs and UCITS, as well as AIFLNPs and their management companies. Additionally, small AIFMs are also included under this mandate. Entities that are authorized or appointed to act as external managers by September 30, 2026, are required to complete the latest version of the QST-MC form, specifically Version 26.

CySEC has made it clear that the obligation to submit the form extends to entities that have obtained authorization by the specified date, even if they have not yet begun operations. The submission process must be conducted electronically through CySEC’s Transaction Reporting System (TRS). Fund managers are responsible for ensuring that they receive an official feedback file confirming their submission. A filing will only be deemed successful if the feedback file indicates a “NO ERROR” status.

In the event that errors are identified in a submission, the respective entity must correct the form, apply a digital signature where necessary, and resubmit it. CySEC has reiterated that the final deadline for a successful submission is set for Friday, October 30, 2026. Entities that fail to comply with the submission requirements in a timely and accurate manner may face administrative penalties as stipulated under the CySEC Law. Notably, the commission will not issue reminders to entities that miss the deadline.

When preparing their submissions, reporting entities are instructed to provide figures in euros, rounded to the nearest unit. Furthermore, all validation checks included in the form must return a TRUE result prior to submission. CySEC has also advised firms to ensure they are using Version 26 of the form, with specific file naming conventions based on the firm’s TRS username, the reporting date, and the form code.

For any questions related to the completion of the form, entities must submit their inquiries in writing to CySEC before October 23. Technical questions regarding digital signatures and the submission process can be directed to the commission’s IT support team separately.

This initiative by CySEC aims to maintain transparency and regulatory compliance within the fund management sector, ensuring that all relevant data is accurately reported and monitored. As the deadline approaches, fund managers and investment entities are encouraged to prioritize their submissions to avoid potential penalties.
