**Cyta CEO George Metzakis Joins TechIsland Board**
George Metzakis, the newly appointed CEO of Cyta, has joined the board of directors of TechIsland, further solidifying his influence in the telecommunications and technology sectors in Cyprus. With over 17 years of experience in telecommunications, Metzakis brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise that is expected to benefit both organizations.
Metzakis took on the role of CEO at Cyta in May 2026, following a tenure as Chief Commercial Officer that began in 2023. In this earlier position, he was responsible for overseeing the company's overall commercial strategy. His leadership capabilities were recognized when he served as co-Acting CEO starting in September 2025, a role that allowed him to ensure operational continuity during a transitional period for the organization.
His professional background encompasses various aspects of the telecommunications industry, including commercial strategy, marketing, sales, revenue growth, and customer experience. At Cyta, Metzakis has played a pivotal role in advancing the company’s digital transformation and enhancing its customer-centric approach.
