According to evidence being examined, at around 1:30am the 23-year-old was cycling on Omonias Avenue in Limassol when three unknown individuals approached him and demanded he hand over the food he was carrying. He refused, and the group attacked him, hitting him with their hands and an iron object. One of them reportedly stabbed him in the abdomen with a knife. The attackers then reportedly stole €150 in cash he was carrying and fled. Taken to hospital with multiple injuries The 23-year-old was taken to Limassol General Hospital, where he was found to have abrasions on various parts of his body, swelling to his right eye and a superficial wound to his left abdomen. He was kept in hospital for further treatment. Delivery rider arrested for residence status During the investigation, it was established that the 23-year-old was residing in the Republic without the necessary permits, and he was arrested on the spot for the offence of illegal residence. CID Limassol is continuing its investigation.
