The department said technical adjustments have been made to the new network to make it easier for viewers to pick up the signal, and urged citizens to act promptly, and within the parallel transmission period, to sync with the new platform. The old and new networks will broadcast in parallel until October 10, 2026. The switch to the new DVB-T2 broadcasting standard previously caused widespread reception problems, with Hellas Sat receiving around 1,600 calls from households unable to tune into the new frequencies, and the issue was raised in parliament, according to prior philenews reporting. The department outlined the following steps for viewers: To check whether a television is compatible with the new technology, viewers should retune their set. If channels cannot be found in HD, the television is not compatible with the new technology. If a television is not compatible, viewers should obtain a suitable CE-marked decoder. If reception problems persist, viewers should check their aerial and cabling. If needed, technical assistance is available by calling the Hellas Sat call centre on 22000737. The department noted that no retuning is required for those already receiving the new platform’s signal, and that the new platform’s signal quality remains in high definition (HD).
