TOYOTA RACING has secured the World Manufacturers’ Championship with a commanding one-two finish at the 6 Hours of Barcelona, the penultimate round of the 2026 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC). In challenging conditions at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, the team celebrated its fourth victory of the season, securing its eighth World Manufacturers’ Championship title and its first under the TOYOTA RACING name. Sébastien Buemi, Brendon Hartley and Ryō Hirakawa claimed victory in the #8 TR010 HYBRID, extending their lead in the drivers’ standings. Mike Conway, Kamui Kobayashi and Nyck de Vries completed the one-two finish in the #7 car, just 0.583 seconds behind. Kamui Kobayashi, team principal and driver of car #7, said: “Winning at Le Mans and now securing the Manufacturers’ title is a tremendous achievement.” Nyck de Vries, driver of car #7, added: “It is an excellent result for the team.” Brendon Hartley, driver of car #8, said: “It is a fantastic day for the team, with a one-two finish and the Manufacturers’ title.” With victories at Le Mans and Fuji already defining their season, the drivers’ title is now a two-horse race between the two Toyota crews. The final showdown will take place at the 6 Hours of Monza on November 8, 2026 with a 17-point gap between the two crews.
