Drone Hits High-Rise Apartment Building in Yekaterinburg as Ukraine Targets Wildberries Hub

Aug. 31, 2026 @exilenova_plus / Telegram A drone struck a high-rise apartment building in the city of Yekaterinburg as Ukraine targeted a logistics hub owned by online retailer Wildberries, local officials and Russian media reported on Monday afternoon. Sverdlovsk region Governor Denis Pasler said four people were injured in the air attack. Artyom Zhoga, who serves as President Vladimir Putin’s representative to the Urals Federal District, confirmed several apartments were damaged. Independent media cited Yekaterinburg residents as saying that several fires erupted throughout the city as a result of the drone barrage. Photos on social media showed damage to the upper floors of a high-rise apartment building. Wildberries, Russia’s largest online retailer, told Russian media that employees at its logistics hub in Yekaterinburg were evacuated, but said the facility, which has been targeted before, was not damaged. The attack on Yekaterinburg followed earlier drone strikes throughout Russia. The Defense Ministry said Monday morning that it intercepted 239 Ukrainian drones across the country and in annexed Crimea overnight. In Moscow, Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said at least six drones were intercepted on approach to the capital. Officials reported multiple injuries in the Bryansk and Kursk regions, while falling drone debris sparked a wildfire in the Rostov region. Airports across the country introduced temporary flight restrictions amid the attacks.
