According to the report, CID Headquarters officers went to court a short while ago and filed the case. The two are said to face around 100 charges, according to the same information. The Sandy case originated with publications by journalist Makarios Drousiotis, who made a series of allegations concerning public figures, including corruption and sexual misconduct. The messages at the centre of the case were purportedly exchanged between “Sandy” and former Supreme Court judge Michalakis Christodoulou, who has publicly acknowledged knowing “Sandy” but denied all allegations of wrongdoing. Bank searches subsequently found no evidence of funds moved abroad, and the Council of Ministers ordered all material sent to Europol for forensic examination. Police later announced that the messages were fabricated and forged and that the information they contained was false, a conclusion Drousiotis has publicly rejected, while continuing to maintain that his own messages are authentic.
