**Dubai Declares 10 Days of Mourning for Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum**
Dubai has officially announced a period of ten days of mourning following the death of Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the youngest brother of the emirate's ruler, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Sheikh Ahmed passed away at the age of 76, as confirmed by the Dubai Media Office on Monday.
In a statement, the Ruler's Court declared that flags would be flown at half-mast throughout the mourning period, which will last until October 1. This period of remembrance reflects the significant impact Sheikh Ahmed had on the emirate and the broader United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Sheikh Ahmed founded Al Wasl Sports Club in 1960 and remained its president for decades, during which the club became one of the most decorated in UAE football. In equestrian sports, Sheikh Ahmed's legacy includes the founding of the Jebel Ali Racecourse and the establishment of the Dubai Racing Club in the early 1990s, which helped elevate the UAE's status in international equestrian competitions.
