In Larnaca, several villages, including Ayia Anna, Kalo Chorio, Mosfiloti, and Psevdas, all experienced outages shortly before 2 PM. The EAC estimated that power would be restored to these areas by 5 PM.
In addition to the unplanned outages, the EAC also announced scheduled power cuts for the Larnaca district. A planned outage is set to affect part of Aradippou on Friday from 8 AM until noon. Another scheduled cut is planned for the Makenzie area on Saturday, lasting from 8 AM to 1 PM. In Paphos district, a scheduled outage was also reported for part of Poli Chrysochous on Thursday, running from 8 AM to 3 PM.
The EAC is currently investigating the cause of the fault that led to the outages, with repair crews actively working on-site to resolve the issues. The authority has not yet provided further details on the nature of the fault or any potential preventive measures for the future.
As the situation develops, residents in the affected areas are advised to stay informed through official channels for updates on power restoration times. The EAC is committed to restoring power as quickly and efficiently as possible while ensuring the safety of its crews and the public. Further updates are expected as the EAC continues its work to resolve the outages.
