**Eto’o Faces Allegations of Embezzlement in Cameroon FA Presidency Role**
Samuel Eto’o, the president of the Cameroonian Football Federation (FECAFOOT) and a former star striker for clubs such as Barcelona and Chelsea, is currently embroiled in serious allegations of embezzlement. The accusations come from former executives of FECAFOOT, who claim that Eto’o redirected over 567,000 euros (approximately $665,000) in appearance fees intended for the federation into his personal bank account.
Eto’o, who is 45 years old and has an impressive record of 56 goals in 118 appearances for the Cameroon national team, is said to have misappropriated funds related to a friendly international match against Russia in 2023. Reports indicate that payments for this match were requested to be deposited into an account held by Eto’o at the Qatar National Bank in Doha.
The allegations were first reported by The Times, which also noted that the former FECAFOOT executives claim they were ousted from their positions under Eto’o’s leadership. They have reportedly submitted complaints to FIFA's ethics committee over a year ago but have yet to receive any substantive updates regarding the investigation.

He was banned from attending national team matches for six months following violations of FIFA regulations during the 2020 Under-20 Women’s World Cup.
