**Ex-Wimbledon Champion Vondrousova Appeals Four-Year Doping Ban to CAS**
Former Wimbledon champion Marketa Vondrousova has formally appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) regarding her four-year ban imposed for missing a doping test. The appeal was confirmed by CAS on August 25, 2026, although no hearing date has yet been scheduled.
Vondrousova, who was ranked as high as number six in the world, has not participated in any matches since she withdrew from the Adelaide International in January 2026 due to a shoulder injury. This absence has resulted in her ranking plummeting to 153rd in the world.
The suspension was handed down to the Czech player in June 2026 after the International Tennis Integrity Agency reported that she failed to provide a sample when approached by a doping control officer for an out-of-competition test at her home in December 2025.
