The Alliance Française Limassol has been organising World Music Day in Limassol since 1987, contributing decisively to the establishment of the institution in the cultural life of the city. The “Fête de la Musique”, which was launched in 1982 by the French Ministry of Culture and is now held in dozens of countries worldwide, is an open music celebration in public spaces, with free access for all. This year’s edition of the festival maintains the multi-faceted nature of the event, bringing together different musical genres, artists and audiences, through two days of live concerts, music tours and outdoor activities in the city center. On Saturday, June 20, 2026, at 7 p.m., the Mayor of Limassol, Mr. Yiannis Armeftis, and the President of the Alliance Française, Ms. Niki Papadopoulou Papa, will declare the opening of the two-day Festival.
