The fire service was needed on Sunday afternoon to release a child’s arm that had got stuck in a metal object, spokesman Andreas Kettis said.
He said fire stations in the Nicosia district despatched a rescue vehicle to extract the child’s arm from what was described as “possibly a cooking utensil”.
As the child’s arm was trapped they were transported by ambulance to the A&E at the Nicosia general hospital for treatment.
