**Gaza Holds One of Its Largest Funerals for Victims of Israeli Airstrike**
Gaza City witnessed one of its largest funerals on Tuesday, as over 100 victims of a recent Israeli airstrike were laid to rest. The airstrike, which occurred in November 2023, targeted the Sabra neighborhood and resulted in the deaths of 308 individuals from the al-Husayna and Abu Sharia families, according to Palestinian authorities.
The funeral marked a significant moment in the ongoing conflict between Hamas and Israel, which has persisted for nearly three years. Mourners gathered to pay their respects to the 112 victims whose remains were recovered, while many others remain missing. The ongoing conflict escalated dramatically following a surprise attack by Hamas on Israel on October 7, 2023, which resulted in approximately 1,200 Israeli fatalities and over 200 individuals taken hostage. In the ensuing military operations, it is estimated that more than 73,000 Palestinians have lost their lives, and the vast majority of Gaza’s population has been displaced.
