The first international office of the Global Fact-Checking Network (GFCN) will open in Dubai, GFCN President Vladimir Tabak said, speaking at the international Dialogue about Fakes 4.0 forum, of which TASS is the strategic media partner. "I would like to say separately that we can now definitely announce the opening of our first international office in Dubai. Of course, Russia is the base for this project - both TASS and the Dialogue nonprofit organization are Russian projects. But since we positioned the project as international, we wanted it to also have an international office that could serve as an additional point of attraction for representatives of different countries, different media outlets and different projects. So I think we may have an additional venue for events, meetings and communications," Tabak said at the plenary session titled "International Cooperation in the Information Sphere: From Individual Projects to Unified Cognitive Sovereignty." The GFCN head also thanked TASS and the Russian Foreign Ministry for their maximum assistance and support for the association’s activities. "We are very glad that we signed a memorandum with OANA. For us, this is an important factor of verification. And we hope that the media outlets that are members of this association, this union, will begin actively cooperating with us," he added. The Dialogue about Fakes 4.0 forum is a global platform for discussing methods to combat disinformation and develop fact-checking technologies. The event is taking place at the Russia National Center with the participation of over 2,000 journalists, experts and businesspeople from 80 countries. It is organized by the Global Fact-Checking Network (GFCN), established in 2025 by the TASS news agency, the autonomous nonprofit organization "Dialogue Regions," and the New Media Workshop. TASS is the forum’s strategic media partner.
