**Global Cricketing Greats Urge Pakistani Government for Imran Khan's Medical Care**
In a heartfelt appeal, nearly two dozen former cricket captains from around the globe have reached out to Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, urging him to ensure proper medical treatment for Imran Khan, the country’s former prime minister and a celebrated cricket legend. This appeal comes in light of recent developments regarding Khan's health and his treatment following a court order.
The group, which includes notable cricketing figures such as Indian legends Kapil Dev and Sunil Gavaskar, sent a letter on Sunday highlighting their concerns. Their call for action follows Khan's hasty return to jail after a brief medical checkup at a government-run hospital in Islamabad. Khan was moved to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) under heavy security, just after midnight on Thursday, despite the Supreme Court's directive that he be transferred to the private Shifa International Hospital and remain there until September 16.
The Supreme Court also mandated the formation of a medical board, which includes Khan's sister, Uzma Khan, to assess his health issues comprehensively. However, Khan was returned to his detention shortly after his examination, raising questions about compliance with the court's orders.
The letter from the former cricket captains emphasizes the importance of allowing Khan visits from family members, as stipulated by the Supreme Court. Furthermore, they requested that any medical treatment recommended by the court be executed promptly. The cricketers clarified that their appeal is not politically motivated but stems from their shared experiences and camaraderie with Khan on the cricket field.

Notably, no Pakistani cricketers have joined this latest appeal, which follows a similar letter sent in February by 14 former cricketers, including Kapil Dev, Sunil Gavaskar, and Greg Chappell, advocating for more humane treatment for Khan.
In response to the growing concerns about Khan's health, Prime Minister Sharif announced the formation of an inquiry committee to investigate why a heart diagnostic test, previously recommended by medical professionals at the government hospital, was not performed.
