The meeting, held in the UN-protected area near Nicosia airport, began shortly after 10am, following a dinner between Guterres and the two leaders the previous night. It was also attended by the two sides’ negotiators, Mehmet Dana and Menelaos Menelaou, as well as María Ángela Holguín, Rosemary Di Carlo, and an adviser to the Secretary-General. Guterres is expected to hold a press conference shortly, at 11:45 am, where announcements on next steps in the Cyprus peace process are anticipated.
