The Fire Service received the call at 00:18, reporting a fire in an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) system inside a server room in the hotel’s basement, in the Peyia area of the Paphos district. Paphos Fire Station responded with two fire engines, and the fire was brought under control by 00:45. The fire and resulting heat damaged the UPS system, part of the wiring, equipment, and part of the room’s paintwork. Hotel staff noticed the fire and tried to put it out with a fire extinguisher before the Fire Service arrived. Fire Service personnel then completed the extinguishing and ventilated the area. No one was in danger from the fire, and there was no need to evacuate guests or hotel staff. The cause of the fire will be investigated in cooperation with the relevant authorities.
