**INNOPROM. India: A Platform for Expanding Russian-Indian Industrial Ties Ahead of BRICS Summit**
An international industrial trade fair, INNOPROM. India, is set to take place in New Delhi from September 9 to 11, 2023, just ahead of the 18th BRICS Summit. The event aims to strengthen business relations between Russia and India by showcasing advanced technologies and exploring new areas of cooperation across various sectors, including aviation and artificial intelligence.
Organized by the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade in collaboration with India’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the fair will be held at Pavilion No. 1 of the Bharat Mandapam exhibition complex. Operational support is being provided by Formika Event and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), alongside assistance from the Russian Trade Representation in India.
The exhibition is expected to cover an area of 10,000 square meters and will feature over 120 companies from both nations. Participants will display a range of technologies and industrial products spanning engineering, energy, chemicals, digital technologies, aviation, and more.
Notable Russian companies participating in the fair include Rostec, Rosatom, RUSAL, Transmashholding, Sber, and the United Aircraft Corporation, among others. Additionally, regional exporters from Moscow, Krasnodar Territory, Tatarstan, and the Chelyabinsk Region will also be represented.
On the Indian side, companies such as SRB International, National Mineral Development Corporation, and Steel Authority of India Limited are expected to showcase their offerings.
The fair will highlight a variety of Russian technological innovations, including solutions for transport, nuclear energy, space exploration, artificial intelligence, urban infrastructure, and finance. Among the planned exhibits are a model nuclear power plant featuring a VVER-1200 reactor, aircraft models including the MC-21-310 and Il-114-300, and a high-speed train model developed through a joint Russian-Indian production initiative.
Additional displays will include a train traffic management system, automated storage systems, industrial robots, and a digital twin of Moscow. A platform for developing AI agents and an optical computing unit designed to enhance energy efficiency in AI data processing will also be featured. The event aims to present integrated design concepts that merge infrastructure, digitalization, AI-driven energy management, and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) standards into a cohesive smart urban model.
The business program will be highlighted by a plenary session on September 10, titled "Enhancing Russian-Indian Trade and Industrial Partnership: Towards Greater Self-Reliance." This session is expected to include key figures such as Russian Industry and Trade Minister Anton Alikhanov and Indian Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal. Discussions will focus on strengthening the strategic partnership, expanding bilateral trade and investment, increasing market access, and developing joint industrial projects.
Other sessions throughout the fair will delve into topics such as business cooperation, regional aviation, digital technologies, trade infrastructure, critical minerals and raw materials, and additive manufacturing.
