Herzog arrived at the Presidential Palace at 11:30am, where he was welcomed by Christodoulides. The two presidents are holding a private meeting, to be followed by a working lunch. Thursday’s meeting is Herzog’s third visit to Cyprus since taking office. His first, in March 2022, was a stopover en route to Turkey, during which he offered assurances to then-President Nicos Anastasiades. His most recent prior visit, in January 2025, focused on the situation in Syria and drew several hundred protesters outside the Presidential Palace organised by the Cyprus Peace Council.
