**Karaiskakio Foundation to Celebrate 30 Years of Service at European Researchers’ Night 2026**
The Karaiskakio Foundation is set to commemorate its 30th anniversary by participating in the European Researchers’ Night 2026, scheduled for Friday, September 25, 2026. The event will take place at the Cyprus State Fairgrounds in Nicosia and is themed “CELEBRATE 2.0 – Two Decades of STEAM-Powered Inspiration.” This year marks the 20th anniversary of the European Researchers’ Night, an initiative organized by the Research and Innovation Foundation (RIF) aimed at making science and innovation more accessible to the public, especially the youth.
The Karaiskakio Foundation, established three decades ago, has dedicated itself to promoting science and voluntary service, particularly in the fields of bone marrow and organ donation. Its participation in this year’s event is particularly meaningful, as it aligns with its mission to educate the public about the importance of voluntary donation and the science behind it.
At Booth 34, attendees will have the opportunity to engage in an interactive activity titled “Become a Donor, Give the Gift of Life: The Science Behind Bone Marrow and Organ Donation.” This educational experience aims to enlighten visitors on the complexities of finding a compatible donor and how such matches can provide second chances at life for those in need.
In addition to the main activity, the foundation will host two engaging games: “Find the Ideal Donor” and “DNA Detective – Find Your Match!” These activities are designed to make learning about DNA compatibility and donor matching both fun and informative. Participants, especially children, will explore the science of genetics while enjoying a playful environment. Upon completing the activities, participants will receive a small gift as a token of appreciation for their involvement.
