**Limassol to Install Variable-Message Signs Along Highway**
The Department of Public Works in Cyprus has announced that roadworks will commence this week to install variable-message signs along three sections of the Limassol-Nicosia highway. This initiative aims to enhance traffic management and communication for drivers on one of the island’s major routes.
The roadworks will involve the closure of the left lane in each work area for approximately 600 meters. The first section targeted for these improvements is located past the GSP roundabout, heading towards Nicosia, near the GSP Stadium in Strovolos. Excavation work in this area is scheduled to begin on Tuesday at 9 PM and is expected to conclude by Wednesday.
Following the initial phase, work will continue on two additional sections of the highway on Thursday and Friday. These sections are situated between the Ayios Athanasios and Germasogeia interchanges in Limassol, with one section directed towards Nicosia and the other towards Limassol.
The Department of Public Works has acknowledged that the roadworks may cause some inconvenience to drivers and has urged the public to exercise patience during this period. They have also requested that motorists adhere to temporary traffic signs and follow the instructions provided by police in the area to ensure safety and smooth traffic flow.
The installation of variable-message signs is part of a broader effort to improve road safety and provide real-time information to drivers, which is expected to contribute positively to the overall driving experience on the Limassol-Nicosia highway.
As the roadworks progress, updates will be provided to keep the public informed about any changes or developments related to the project.
