**Make Music Brings Hundreds of Musicians Together for Three Days of Performances**
The 8th Make Music Cyprus Festival is set to take place from June 19 to 21, 2026, marking a significant expansion from previous years with its first-ever three-day format. This year’s festival will be celebrated across all districts of the Municipality of Nicosia, transforming squares, parks, streets, and public spaces into vibrant venues for live music performances.
June is a month cherished by many for its heralding of summer and the holiday season, as well as for International Music Day, which promotes the joy of music through simultaneous live performances. The Make Music Cyprus Festival aligns perfectly with this spirit, offering free access to music lovers and participants alike.
The festival will kick off on June 19 in the traditional core square of Agios Dhometios, where events are scheduled from 6 PM to midnight. The following day, June 20, Akademias Park in Aglandjia will host a morning session from 9 AM to 12 PM, featuring a variety of musicians and music enthusiasts. The festival's grand finale will occur on June 21, coinciding with International Music Day, where the city center of Nicosia will come alive with music starting at 6 PM. Key locations such as Nicosia Town Hall, Tillirias Square, Lellou Dimitriades Square, Eptanisou Street, Asklipiou Street, Faneromeni Square, and Onasagorou Street will all be filled with performances from musicians of diverse ages, backgrounds, and genres.
This year, more than 500 participants, including professional and amateur musicians, students, and music lovers, are expected to unite for this inclusive celebration. The Make Music Cyprus Festival is recognized as the largest street music festival in Cyprus, showcasing a wide array of artists and styles, and is part of the global Make Music Day initiative, which is celebrated in over 1,000 cities across 120 countries.
In an effort to enhance accessibility and promote sustainable urban mobility, the festival organizers have partnered with Cyprus Public Transport to offer a free Park & Ride service on June 21. This service includes shuttle bus routes to and from various festival locations, making it easier for attendees to participate in the festivities.
The festival's organizers emphasize the inclusive nature of the event, inviting everyone to join in, whether they are musicians, music lovers, or simply seeking a unique experience. “It is a festival ‘from the world for the world,’ where everyone can take part,” they state. The Make Music Cyprus Festival promises to be a colorful, free-spirited celebration of music that aims to shape the cultural identity of the island.
For those interested in attending, all performances are free of charge. More information about the festival and its schedule can be found on their official website at www.makemusiccyprus.org or by calling 7000-0216.
As the festival approaches, excitement builds for what is expected to be a memorable three days of music and community engagement in Nicosia.
