Morocco defeated Canada 3-0 in the Round of 16 of the FIFA World Cup match hosted by Houston. Azzedine Ounahi scored in the 50th and 82nd minutes, and Soufiane Rahimi in the 90+8 minute. In the quarterfinals, Morocco will face the winner of the match between France and Paraguay, which will take place in the early morning hours of July 5. Morocco’s next playoff match will be held on July 9. During the first half of the match between Canada and Morocco, players received six yellow cards, and there were five shots on goal. This is the first time in FIFA World Cup history that the number of cautions in a single half has exceeded the number of shots on goal. The Canadian national team achieved its best-ever result at the FIFA World Cup. The Moroccan team finished in fourth place at the last tournament.
