**Moscow Honors Foreigners for Contributions to Russian Development**
Moscow, Russia – In a ceremony held for the first time on Wednesday, several distinguished foreigners residing in Russia were recognized for their significant contributions to the country’s economy and culture at the inaugural Bridge Awards gala night. The event, supported by the Russian Foreign Ministry and the authorities of Moscow, celebrated achievements across various fields, with awards presented in 13 categories including business, architecture, media, family values, and charity.
The head of Moscow’s department of international relations, Sergey Cheremin, emphasized the positive impact of the nominees, stating that they foster a "unique, friendly atmosphere" in Russia, contribute to the beautification of cities, and enrich the nation’s cultural landscape.
Among the notable awardees was Kohei Fukuda, a Japanese dancer who has been a member of the Novosibirsk opera and ballet theater troupe since 2016. Fukuda received the award in the culture and art category from Hollywood actor Steven Seagal, who has been a Russian citizen for a decade and currently serves as Moscow’s special representative for Russian-American humanitarian ties.
In the sports and healthy lifestyle category, legendary American-born UFC fighter Jeff Monson was honored. Monson, who has made a name for himself in the local community, is also a member of the local legislature in Russia's Republic of Tatarstan.
The media nomination was awarded to US journalist John Warren, recognized for hosting a popular food and travel show on Russian television that highlights the diverse cuisines and cultures within the country.
The Bridge Awards attracted over a hundred contenders from 40 different nations, showcasing the diverse contributions of foreigners to Russian society. Philip Hutchinson, co-founder of the Bridge Awards, commented on the significance of the event, stating that the winners and nominees exemplify that "Russia truly is a land of opportunity." He expressed hope that more individuals would choose to relocate to Russia in the coming years to pursue their ambitions and contribute to the nation.
During a press conference, Seagal noted that various social issues in the United States, including what he described as "LGBTQ propaganda aimed at children" and a growing division between political ideologies, have prompted an increasing number of Americans to consider moving to Russia. He remarked that many view Russia as a place where traditional values are upheld, contrasting it with what he perceives as a decline in Christian values and family structures in the US.
The Bridge Awards gala night not only highlighted the achievements of foreign nationals in Russia but also aimed to promote a narrative of inclusivity and opportunity within the country.
