**Moving Vehicle Catches Fire in Nicosia**
A vehicle caught fire while in motion in the Kato Moni area of Nicosia on Wednesday evening, according to a report from local police. The incident occurred around 6:24 PM, prompting the fire department to respond swiftly to the emergency.
The driver of the vehicle noticed the flames and was able to exit the vehicle safely before the fire spread, avoiding any injuries. Firefighters from the Lakatamia station were dispatched to the scene, arriving promptly to tackle the blaze. By 6:54 PM, the fire was brought under control, but not before the vehicle sustained extensive damage from both the flames and the heat generated by the fire.
In addition to the vehicle, a small area of dry grass and wild vegetation nearby was also affected by the fire. The fire department reported that they had received a total of 27 calls for assistance between 6 AM on Wednesday and 6 AM on Thursday, which included 14 fires, 12 cases requiring special services, and one false alarm.
