**Music and Parades at the 6th Wind Orchestra Festival in Limassol**
Limassol is set to come alive with music and cultural festivities this weekend as it hosts the 6th Wind Orchestra Festival on July 4 and 5. Organized by the Limassol Municipality in collaboration with the Theotokos Foundation Amerikos Argyriou, the festival promises two days filled with vibrant performances across the city's scenic seaside and historical center.
The festivities will kick off on Saturday, July 4, at 6 PM, starting from the Pavlos Kontides Pier and Limassol Marina Square. The Limassol Municipal Band and the Strovolos Municipality – European University Cyprus Symphony Band will lead a parade along the picturesque Limassol seafront. This musical procession will culminate at Castle Square, where a joint concert will take place in the courtyard of the medieval castle. The parade will also feature the Cyprus Girl Guides Majorettes and the Limassol Majorettes, adding a festive flair to the event.
On Sunday, July 5, the festival will continue with the "Music in Motion" event, which will see the return of the Limassol Municipal Band, the Strovolos Municipality – European University Cyprus Symphony Band, and the Cyprus Police Philharmonic Band. These bands will once again parade along Limassol Molos at 6 PM, before performing alternating musical sets at various locations including the Medieval Castle Square, Limassol Marina Square, and Old Port Square.
The festival will conclude with a Grand Finale at 8 PM on Sunday at the Old Port, featuring a collaborative performance by all participating philharmonic bands. This event is designed to celebrate the spirit of community and the joy of music, inviting residents and visitors alike to enjoy the performances free of charge.
