Nearly 60% of US residents doubt effectiveness of memorandum with Iran — poll According to a Quinnipiac University poll, 48% of respondents believe that the US provides excessive support to IsraelNEW YORK, June 25. /TASS/. Nearly 60% of US residents believe that the agreement reached with Iran will have limited impact, according to a Quinnipiac University poll. The poll found that 59% of respondents said they were "not very confident" or "not confident at all" in the deal’s effectiveness, while 37% partially or fully supported it, and the remainder were undecided. Pollsters also examined public views in the United States on the US and Israeli military campaign against Iran and found that 60% of respondents see little justification for it. In addition, 48% of respondents believe that the US provides excessive support to Israel. The survey team also assessed public perceptions of the likelihood of Iran developing nuclear weapons. A total of 61% of respondents said such a scenario is "highly likely" or "fairly likely," while 33% expressed skepticism. The survey was conducted nationwide between June 18 and June 22 among 1,165 respondents. Washington and Tehran signed a memorandum of understanding in June providing for an immediate ceasefire across all fronts, including Lebanon. On June 21, the United States and Iran held talks in Burgenstock, Switzerland, with mediation by Doha and Islamabad to discuss implementation of the memorandum. The US Senate later adopted a resolution calling for an end to the war with Iran.
